Executive Board

Normand Legault
President
Market gardener from Laval. Bereaved since 2015. I used LumiVie’s services which allowed me to get a new look on life. By its active listening and empathy, LumiVie brings relief to the grief that makes us lose our way.

Vice-president
After earning a Bachelor of Law degree, with a specialization in Notarial Law, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA), I dedicated nearly 30 years to the financial institutions sector as a manager. Having always been involved in volunteer work—a family tradition—I chose to redirect my career towards the community sector. From 2021 to 2025, I served as the Executive Director of a senior’s organization in Laval, the Association pour aînés résidant à Laval (APARL). I am now newly retired. LumiVie’s mission and values deeply resonate with my own, and it will be a privilege to serve on its Board of Directors and contribute to the mission of this wonderful organization.

Ronald Martineau
Treasurer
For over thirty years, I have been a consultant to business leaders in the development of their marketing and market development strategies. My involvement with LumiVie is to share my experiences so that the organization can help more bereaved people.

Administrator
After a career of more than thirty-five years as a director in an international company, I retired in 2022. I was able to take advantage of a very precious help from LumiVie following the death of my long-time supporter, my father.
Acting as a member of the Board of Directors of LumiVie represents for me an opportunity to help the organization increase its influence among people who are bereaved or about to be.

Josée Desjardins
Administrator
Retired from the healthcare network since 2023, I was a medical technologist by profession, having worked for 21 years in the CISSS de Laval laboratory. I made the leap into management. A graduate of a multidisciplinary bachelor’s degree in management from Université Laval, I have managed several laboratories.
In 2025, LumiVie helped me recover from the tragic death of my husband. The extraordinary team provided me with support, a listening ear, and compassion.
Joining the board of directors is my way of giving back to LumiVie. I bring my professional and personal experience to help the organization in its mission of providing bereavement support.

In the fall of 2012, I discovered LumiVie following a search on the web. I had recently lost my mother whom I had assisted at the end of her life at the Maison des Soins Palliatifs of Laval. I was so grateful to this organization that I decided to volunteer in the end-of-life and bereavement field. Being recently retired from teaching at the elementary school, I had the necessary availability to get involved in the support in bereavement groups. Then, in 2014, I also became a member of the executive board.

“Having experienced multiple bereavements throughout my life and in my professional practice as a mental health social worker, I work closely with people who are affected by grief in one way or another, so it was natural for me to get involved with Lumi-vie.
I’ve always been committed to helping people through all their life transitions. I want to contribute to Lumi-vie’s mission for the bereaved and its development by sharing my personal and professional experiences.”
